Pete Thatcher
Sustainability Consultant

Pete Thatcher
Why I work for Seismic:

To help businesses achieve their ambitions of having more positive impacts on the environment and society. I believe this will help redefine the purpose of business, shifting away from an exclusively profit-driven business approach towards one that cares more for people and the planet.

My experience:

I’m fresh out of an interdisciplinary sustainability masters degree at Imperial College London, which cemented my understanding of the role of business sustainability in fixing some of our biggest environmental and societal problems. Accompanied with my ambition to lead a purpose-driven career, I look forward to translating my academic sustainability experience into the professional reality at Seismic.

Some companies I’ve worked with:

PZ Cussons, Imagination, Grantham Institute – Climate Change and the Environment, The Garvan Institute of Medical Research.

A seismic change I’d like to see in the future:

A world where all companies, big and small, have achieved improvements to their social and environmental metrics in line with (and beyond!) the highest sustainability standards.

Where I like to be:

I love to be outdoors either walking, running or playing some sort of ball game – especially football. I’m also a keen gardener and enjoy making jam.
